Will you harm the birds?
| |
No. ProGuard takes steps in every job to
avoid harming any birds. Our process moves them off site
without harming them.
What Safety Equipment do you use to ensure fall prevention?
| |
With ProGuard, Safety is our #1
priority. All of our personnel have the best equipment
from harnesses and lanyards to hard hats and safety
glasses.
How do you handle health and safety issues during clean up?
| |
ProGuard looks at each clean up site as
a possible health issue. Each job has a step by step
plan to disinfect and clean the area with minimal
exposure to your employees and ours.
What type of guarantee do you provide?
| |
ProGuard assures satisfaction in
workmanship and will use only quality materials. Our
service agreements will generally coincide with the
manufacture’s Materials Guarantees. We will also offer
an extended Service Agreement.
Do you have Insurance and are you licensed?
| |
ProGuard carries liability insurance to
cover the jobs we do. Please ask to see certificates of
insurance and Bureau of Workers Compensation. Our
Business is licensed in the states we do work. Most of
our service technicians are also licensed as part of
their career process.
Will the netting and other materials you use be unsightly?
| |
ProGuard will custom design a solution
that will take the visual appearance into consideration.
Most bird deterrent solutions are designed to be low
profile or invisible to their surroundings.
Do those noise devises really work?
| |
Noise devices come in many forms, and
styles. In general their effectiveness is very short
term. Most birds quickly get used to them and return to
normal activity. There are many factors to consider when
using these devices such as: the species of bird, how
long have the birds been there, are there other places
for them to go. ProGuard will use these in some cases to
chase the birds out while installing a more permanent
solution.
How effectively will you clean up the place when you are done?
| |
ProGuard takes pride in all the work we
do and steps are taken while we work to ensure a clean
and safe work environment for your property. We will
leave your facility as clean as or cleaner than we found
it.
How will you adapt and conform to our safety protocols?
| |
Safety is our #1 priority. We will
conform to all of your safety rules and protocols when
we are at your facility to assure the safety of all who
are there.
Do you use lethal bait?
| |
We are authorized to use this, but
choose not to. Lethal baits are reliable, but not
species specific so we find this too great a risk. Bait
consumption can’t be controlled so we don’t know what
birds will die and where they will die. There is a new
product coming on the market that does not kill the
birds, but sterilize the eggs so they do not hatch. We
are researching the effects of this product and may
selectively add this to our offering in the future.
Will you work at night to minimize disruption of our business activities?
| |
ProGuard has a dedicated team of sales
and service technicians that specialize in just
commercial bird work. We do not use technicians with
other daily tasks that may interfere with your schedule.
Our staff is flexible and able to work around your
schedule to accommodate your business activities.
How do you handle non-target species?
| |
ProGuard inspects each site for other
species of birds that may be endangered or protected and
we take steps to minimize the interference with mating
and nesting habits.
Is my pest bird a protected species?
| |
Most birds are afforded protection under
the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Those that are
not protected are: pigeons, sparrows and starlings
because they are not native to this country. As part
of the evaluation process, ProGuard carefully looks at
each site to determine the problem bird and if it is a
protected species. Then we look for what other kinds of
birds will be affected by the work we do.
Are you OSHA certified to work on a lift higher than 25 feet?
| |
Yes. ProGuard is always working to make
sure we comply with all OSHA standards and
recommendations. Many people do not realize there is a
certification that OSHA recommends to anyone who
operates a man lift or platform more than 25 feet off
the ground.
Do I need a permit for this work and will you help me secure it?
| |
ProGuard staff looks at each job to see
what permits, if any, may be required. Permits are a big
issue, because they vary widely from state to state,
county to county, and city to city. Permits may be
required for certain species of birds. Permits may be
required for safely blocking a sidewalk or street while
operating an aerial lift. Permits may be required to use
specialty equipment such as window stages and
scaffolding. ProGuard will assist in securing these
permits and in most cases take care of securing the
necessary permits ourselves.
Does it require special tools and equipment to do bird work?
| |
Some materials do require special tools
and knowledge to install them. ProGuard's bird control specialist have the latest
installation tools to do any of the work we propose. We
also have specialty tools and equipment to make the work
more efficient and to get it done in a timely fashion. |
